The Alumni Delegates will host Senior Celebration 2004 Wednesday for all seniors graduating in May or December. The celebration will be held at the Hunter Henry Center from 7 to 10 p.m. and is free to everyone.
Senior Celebration director Claire Walton said the purpose is to have a final blowout for all graduating seniors and to educate them about the Alumni Association. Walton said she expects a good turnout this year.
“We have put up tons of fliers around campus and we are going to send e-mails to all the seniors,” Walton said. “This year we are hoping and shooting for around 500 people.”
The band Mile 8 will provide the entertainment for the event. The Alumni Delegates will serve crawfish, and Bulldog Deli will cater. Also, door prizes will be given out every 30 minutes throughout the event.
“Donors for the door prizes include anywhere from hotels to salons, restaurants and gift shops downtown,” Walton said.
“We are really wanting everyone that is graduating to come out and have a good time,” Walton said. “This might be most seniors’ last chance as students to come together.”
Former Student Association President and senior Josh Blades said: “There is no doubt I will be there. We don’t do nearly enough on this campus to celebrate the four, five or six years of hard work that people put in at this university.”
Senior Kim Nolan said: “I’m mostly excited that they’re going to give us info on what we can do to be a part of the Alumni Association. We’ve worked so hard to get to this point. MSU is close to my heart, and getting to be a part of it after I graduate is really important to me.”
