Next fall, Mississippi State University will have a new sorority, Alpha Omicron Pi, on campus.
The sorority has raised over $1 million since 1967 toward research-relating to arthritis and arthritis related diseases.
Lori Belew, Alpha Omicron Pi administrative director of public relations, said: “We are looking for upperclassmen in addition to freshman to start this new sorority on campus. We need women who have the necessary leadership abilities and the drive to start a new tradition here at Mississippi State.”
Belew explained that women interested in joining the sorority will be able to schedule appointments to find out more about the sorority. Alpha Omicron Pi will also host a reception for interested women later in April.
Belew said that the new sorority hopes to enhance the Greek community at MSU and support the university.
Alpha Omicron Pi, an international women’s fraternity, was founded in 1897.
For more information, contact Lori Belew at (615) 695-2600 or visit the sorority’s Web site at www.alphaomicronpi.org/colony/msu.
