    Hunt Club sets lineup

Remington’s Hunt Club has been the favorite choice of many students since it first opened its doors in June 2000 in conjunction with Bulldog Lanes. Owner Bill Norris said he opened the business because he felt that Starkville needed a place where families, as well as adults, could find good entertainment.
“Bulldog Lanes is a good place for families to come, and of course, we have the Hunt Club for adults and MSU students,” Norris said.
With the recent addition of The Coyote Concert Hall, the Hunt Club has played host to many big-name bands such as Vanilla Ice, Tone Loc and the ever-popular Afroman.
On Thursday through Friday nights, several popular bands and recording artists will be the norm this semester with the likes of Dezeray’s Hammer, King Konga, Robert Earl Keen, the Laney Strickland Band and the Coconut Cowboys, to mention a few.
King Konga, Dezeray’s Hammer and Robert Earl King are all national level bands that get airtime on the radio, and Norris said he was looking forward to having them play.
Norris said he has greatly appreciated the feedback that Remington’s has received since its conception and has returned the favor with solid entertainment, drink specials and a comfortable environment.
“Drink specials, coupled with quality bands and live DJs, really provide a source of entertainment that can’t be matched in the area,” Norris said.
“Our goal is to have the best drink prices as possible. We know that students are on limited budgets, and we want to give them something they can afford,” Norris said.
Not only does the Hunt Club offer good entertainment and drink prices, the venue recently won an award for the best deli food in Starkville.
“When people come to the Hunt Club, we want them to bring their appetites as well,” Norris said. “People forget that we serve food here, too.”
Students seem to flock to Remington’s, which continues to increase in popularity, and Norris said the business has been well-received by the community.
“People seem to love it,” Norris said.
“The biggest compliment we get is that the establishment is so clean,” Norris said. “Every night we get in there and clean it until it looks brand new again.
“We try to give the best quality entertainment, the best drink prices and the most pleasurable atmosphere for people to enjoy.
