BRAWL STARS | The Columbus-based Roller Derby team, the Mississippi Brawl Stars, will hold its last bout of the season Saturday at 5:30 p.m. at the Columbus Fair Grounds located on Miss. Highway 69. According to its Facebook page, The Mississippi Brawl Star’s mission is “to draw attention to and promote both the sport of women’s flat track roller derby in the Golden Triangle area, and the power, beauty and awesomeness of women in general.” This unique, empowering and entertaining sport has become increasingly popular lately, and the Brawl Stars encourage everyone to come see what all the fuss is about. The team is currently recruiting skaters and referees for next season, no experience is necessary as applicants will be taught everything they need to know.
