CAB aims to make the money rain at “Blizzard of Bucks” next Wednesday

Blizzard of Bucks is exactly what the name implies: A TV-style game show which asks participants to compete in goofy games and wacky stunts for cash and prizes. There will be three rounds of competition, after which  the winners of each round get to compete for the chance to enter “The Incredible Money Machine.” Once in the machine, each contestant will have 30 seconds to grab as much as $500.00 in cash.
Going to college has always been expensive. After paying for tuition, books and board there isn’t always a lot of money left over for extracurricular activities. And though they can’t completely solve all of your money problems, the Campus Activites Board has decided to do something to put a little cash in students’ pocket.
“Of course I plan on going,” said sophomore Janis Ross “It’s free money! And even if I only catch a few dollars, it’ll still be fun to just watch.”
The head coordinator, Elizabeth Benson, said she is excited.
“Last spring, Campus Activities Board brought a TV trivia game show to the Mississippi State University campus, and it was really fun,” she said. “This will be similar, but I’m hoping more students will attend Blizzard of Bucks since it will be during the day”
Despite being named the Campus Activities Board, some may find it surprising a student run organization is doing something like Blizzard of Bucks. Though a closer look reveals that CAB is all about activities that engage everyone.
Lacey Johnson, Student Director of CAB said that the overall hope of the organization is to bring students together.
“Campus Activities Board’s mission is to enrich students’ lives by social, cultural and recreational activities. What better way to let our student body have some fun than competing in silly games for cash?” she said.
Blizzard of Bucks is not only for students. Faculty, staff and even the general public are all invited and encouraged to partake in this game show like experience.
Blizzard of Bucks was originally booked for the Information Wall in the Colvard Student Union, but it has been moved to the Dawg House to accommodate for a bigger anticipated crowd.
