A student that was abducted Wednesday morning en route from Mitchell Memorial Library to South Hall has been found alive.
The students roommate reported the incident after midnight to MSU police who are working with the FBI to uncover more information.
Dr. Bill Kibler, VP of Student Affairs said the Maroon Alert was authorized at 2:30 am Wednesday morning and was sent via text message alone. Kibler said the FBI has taken the lead on the case, and MSU police continue to assist.
Deborah Madden, public affairs specialist for the Jackson media division of the FBI, said the investigation is joint between FBI & MSU PD. Madden said it is too early in the investigation to step outside the statement the university has made but expects more information to come. Madden said the FBI offices in Jackson and Birmingham are working with the MSU PD.
