    Governor spins record

The upcoming gubernatorial election is tremendously important if Mississippi is to reach its full economic potential.
Since the start of Ronnie Musgrove’s term, the state has seen only backward progress, with the loss of 48,600 manufacturing jobs since January 2000.
Mississippi’s unemployment total now stands at a deplorable 96,164, the highest level in the history of the state. Musgrove’s attempt to spin this record has created a campaign of deception unbecoming of the office of governor. Mississippi deserves better.
Haley Barbour is committed to putting Mississippi back on its firm economic footing, to restore the state to its condition before Musgrove’s $700 million budget hole and the mismanagement of state agencies. Election Day is the perfect opportunity for Mississippians to stand up for their state by voting for real leadership and economic progress.
