The Mississippi women’s cross country team finished 18th overall at the Great American Cross Country Festival. The team was led by sophomore Meggan Hodge, who navigated the 5K course in 19:20.4, finishing 33rd on a rainy Friday afternoon at the Ballantyne Cross Country Course near Charlotte, N.C.
“Meggan ran another good race today,” said head coach Al Schmidt. “It is an extremely tough course made even harder with the rain.
Tiffany McWilliams, a sophomore from Red Bay, Ala., finished 69th overall (19:52.5). Senior Ronni Rudolphi (20:48.2) crossed the line in 124th position, with sophomore Trina Hobyan (20:49.4) coming in 125th.
Freshmen Mina Thorstenson (21:30.0) and Michelle Kinney (21:57.2) came in 152nd and 164th, respectively.
Next up for the Bulldog harriers is the Notre Dame Invitational Friday.
