    IHL names presidential search committee

The Board of Trustees of the State Institutions of Higher Learning have announced the members of the Mississippi State University presidential search local advisory committee. The committee will aid the board in selecting a new permanent president of MSU, although the committee has not assembled as of yet.
MSU Dean of Libraries Frances Coleman was appointed as chair of the advisory committee. Although Coleman was unavailable for comment, her assistant said Coleman expects the board to send instructions to MSU’s committee following the announcement of the new president of the University of Southern Mississippi.
The board announced last week that the selection process for USM’s new president is almost complete. USM will interview the last of the finalists today, and the board will announce the new president after the interviewing process is completed and final reports to the board are submitted.
The board also announced the new president of the Mississippi University for Women last week. On April 5, the board named Claudia Limbert as the new president of MUW. Limbert is finishing her term as campus executive officer of the Dubois campus of Penn State University, and according to an IHL press release, Limbert will assume her new duties in July of 2002.
