Mississippi State University officials decided Monday the snow day taken Jan. 10 will be made up at the end of the semester on April 25.
Jerry Gilbert, MSU provost, said the last day of class for students will be April. 25, reading day will be April 26 and finals will take place April 27 through May 3. Commencement ceremonies will be April 29 at 7 p.m. and April 30 at 10 a.m.
“We sought input from a variety of different groups, and we were considering different options, but we decided to chose the option that would be least disruptive,” he said.
Gilbert said the university will take steps in the future from preventing scheduling conflicts by adding in extra days in the calendar.
The revised academic calender for the spring 2011 semester and revised exam schedule will be posted on the Registrar’s Office website as soon as possible.
