Mississippi State University Police are investigating a robbery that took place on the edge of campus Tuesday.
According to the MSU press release, a female student was walking from MSU’s campus to Campus Trails apartments around 3:30 p.m. when she was approached by a male who grabbed her, threatened her at gunpoint and robbed her before leaving on foot.
MSU Police Chief Georgia Lindley said the suspect stole a credit card from the student. The suspect was described as a dark-skinned black male, approximately 6 feet tall and weighing 170-180 pounds.
He was wearing a long red T-shirt, baggy jeans, white tennis shoes and a nylon black bandana.
MSU officials are urging students to be aware of their surroundings at all times and be cautious if walking alone.
The investigation is still ongoing, and MSU police are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact the MSU Police Department at 325-2121.
