Stansbury show moves from Grill to campus

Mississippi State students and basketball fans will have the opportunity to talk with men’s basketball coach Rick Stansbury each Monday evening from 6 to 7 p.m. during his show, “Dawgs Talk with Rick Stansbury.” The show made its season debut on Monday, January 8, and will continue to air each week at 6 p.m. on more than 25 radio stations in Mississippi.
The call-in show, which has been aired for the past 20 years with different coaches, has featured Stansbury for his entire nine-year stint as head coach.
This is the show’s first year to be broadcast from the Humphrey Coliseum.
In previous years, “Dawgs Talk” has been held at the Cotton District Grill but did not receive sponsorship for this basketball season.
“The show is going to have an office feel to it,” said David Rosinski, MSU media relations representative in charge of basketball. “Just two guys sitting in an office, answering questions for fans.”
The show will be hosted by MSU broadcasting legend Jack Cristil, and anyone will be able to call in with their questions for Stansbury.
“This will be fans’ big chance to let Coach Stansbury hear their questions,” Rosinski said.
Listeners wishing to call in with questions can call 1-888-808-8637 anytime during the one-hour call-in show. Listeners in Jackson may participate by calling (601) 952-0986, while Cellular South customers can call in with their questions by dialing *222.
A full list of the radio stations that out-of-town listeners can hear “Dawgs Talk” is available on the Mississippi State web site, but students and fans in the Starkville area can hear the show on WFCA 107.9.
Mississippi State basketball fans can also catch Stansbury on “The Mississippi State Basketball with Coach Rick Stansbury Television Show” beginning on Jan. 14 and running through March 4 following each men’s basketball game.
This show will also be hosted by Cristil and will feature highlights of the Bulldogs’ previous games, team features and previews of upcoming games.
The show will be broadcast on various regional and local television stations, including MSUTV 18 on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:30 p.m.
