Greg Byrne, an associate athletic director for Mississippi State University since 2006, has been named the new athletic director after a 6-month nationwide search.Byrne, 36, an Arizona State University alumnus, currently holds a bachelor’s degree from ASU. He is expected to receive a master’s degree from MSU by the end of the calendar year.
He previously served as an associate AD at Kentucky and Oregon State.
