A second suspect has been arrested and charged with capital murder in connection with the Saturday night campus shooting. The public’s help is being sought in locating the third suspect.
Duntae Harvey, 21, turned himself into the U.S. Marshal’s service at an apartment complex in Jackson on Monday, Mississippi State University Police Chief Georgia Lindley said.
Harvey’s family encouraged him to turn himself in, Lindley said.
The MSU Police Department is seeking Trent Deundra Crump, 21, of Flowood on a warrant for capital murder, Lindley said in a news release.
“Crump is traveling in a light blue 1996 Mercury Grand Marquis with Rankin County tags,” Lindley said in a news release.
She said in the news release he is considered armed and dangerous and may be accompanied by a black female.
Lindley said the investigation is ongoing and that the MSU Police Department are determining if a gun found near Chadwick Lake is involved in the homicide.
The Reflector will continue to update the story as it develops.
