The members of the Ironman Repertory Theatre Company have big plans for the new year after a successful start in 2003.
In conjunction with Theatre MSU, the 12-member comedy crew has entertained students with improvisational comedy similar to the hit television show “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” since nearly a year ago.
After performing on campus at the McComas Hall Lab Theatre and appearing at Remington’s and Polliwog’s, the group promises more laughs for Starkville.
Brandon Morris is one of the Ironman members who also helps manage the group.
“We have been fairly well received in our shows and we have learned what works with different crowds,” Morris said.
The Ironman group had problems with amplification last semester but they have solved the problem this semester with microphones for the performers.
Upcoming plans for the group include shows at the McComas Hall Lab Theatre and Remington’s. “Hopefully we can get a consistent following and do shows all around town,” Morris said.
The Ironman group has also added new games to their comedy shows. They plan to keep their old games, however, which include the group favorite “Change.”
“We have added new games to our routine, we are trying to expand our repertoire,” Morris said.
James Eison is a member of the group who encourages people to join. “We are open to new members and we love to have people interested in us,” Eison said. “There are quite a few of us that are seniors; we want to keep it going and give Mississippi State something they can be proud of.”
Ironman will perform Wednesday at Remington’s and Jan. 22 and 23 in the McComas Hall Lab Theatre.
