BREAKING: Starkville Police Department reports apparent suicide in the City Hall parking lot

The Starkville Police Department is investigating a death caused by a self-inflicted gunshot wound that occurred in the City Hall/Starkville Police Department parking lot Monday morning.
According to a statement issued by the SPD, an employee found the body of Adam Kincaid, 62, of 1524 B Saint Andrews Lane, near the entrance to the Starkville Municipal Court. Police responded and verified that Kincaid was deceased.
Officers found the deceased’s vehicle in the City Hall parking lot and also discovered Kincaid’s driver’s license and a detailed note consistent with a death by suicide on his body. According to the SPD release, the victim had recently been notified of serious medical conditions.
SPD is continuing the investigation and is being assisted by the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation and the Oktibbeha County Coroner’s Office.
