Thomas Sellers wins Mississippi State University Student Association President position following a run off election against Drew Cleek. Sellers won with 53 percent of the vote, compared to Cleek’s 46 percent.
In a statement to The Reflector, Sellers said he appreciated the support he received during his campaign.
“I really can’t believe that this moment has come. This is something I have been working on and excited about for over the past six months,” Sellers said. “I think I am still in shock, but I know this would not have been possible without all of the great help I have received during the campaign. I am truly humbled by this, but also very excited to serve the university in this capacity.”
The runoff was announced between Sellers and Cleek Wednesday following the general election. executive council members elected Wednesday include: Vice President Rhett Hobart, Treasurer Randall Weems, Attorney General Nathan Upchurch and Secretary Valerye Windham.
