Amy Whitten, president of the Board of Trustees of the Mississippi Institutions of Higher Learning, issued a statement today indicating the current investigation between IHL Commissioner Tom Meredith and MSU Interim President Vance Watson will last approximately two weeks.
“While I am not at liberty to discuss the details of the investigation, we anticipate it will take approximately two weeks,” the statement read. “The board is confident that the system will operate smoothly during this time.”
Whitten also said second-round interviews for the MSU presidential search are being rescheduled.
“We are still on target with the same completion date, with the goal of having the president named by the beginning of November,” the statement read.
The Reflector will continue to provide updates to State Auditor Stacey Pickering’s investigation and the presidential search as they develop.
