A new Waffle House location is nearing completion at 975 Highway 12 E. in front of the Hilton Garden Inn Starkville.

According to a Feb. 3 email to the Reflector from Waffle House, Inc. spokeswoman Kelly Bruner, the restaurant is expected to open in mid to late February, but that is subject to change.

The new location was first confirmed to The Commercial Dispatch in April 2024, with a projected completion date of March 2025.

Students expressed excitement about the new location.

“I really like that it’s going to be a lot closer. I live in the cotton district, so having to drive all the way across town just to get Waffle House is a pain, and seeing that it’s extremely close now, I’m probably going to be spending a good bit of money in there now,” Joshua Elkins, a senior communication major with a concentration in broadcast and digital journalism, said.

Kellen Walker is also a senior communication major with a concentration in broadcast and digital journalism.

“It’s going to be really convenient for me, because I live much closer to this new location,” Walker said. “I’d have to drive all the way across town to the other one, and I get Waffle House a good bit, so yeah, I’m very, very excited.”
