The Mississippi State football team practiced for a second straight day Thursday, working another two and a half hours on the practice fields behind the Shira Athletic Complex.
It was the second of four practice days for the Bulldogs in shorts and headgear only. The NCAA mandates that no contact shall occur before the third spring practice session. MSU will work again minus full gear today and Saturday.
Thursday’s workout left MSU head football coach Sylvester Croom with many of the same feelings he had following the initial workout Wednesday.
“Overall, some things were better, some were worse,” Croom said. “I will say I was pleased with the effort-it was better than yesterday-and we finished plays better today.
“We still have a lot to get accomplished,” Croom said. “We have to improve the execution of our assignments. We’re asking an awful lot of these guys, but I know they can get it done. We just have to keep working over and over again.”
The same four players who made the initial injury list remained there Thursday. The bright spot came in the announcement that wide receiver RayRay Bivines (Gautier, Miss.), who underwent off-season hamstring surgery, was given the go-ahead to begin jogging.
