Cookie crumbs litter the area surrounding the computer. Coke has been spilled on the keyboard several times, so the keys stick. It’s well past midnight, but sleep isn’t coming soon. Important issues must be dealt with. Fant makes me wish for Madkin. Fant’s completion percentage is terrible. Also, how many passes are the receivers going to drop??
“Honey, come to bed. Your boss is going to be mad if you’re late again.”
I heard DontaZ is still 20 pounds overweight. Why is he still on the team?????
“The light from the computer screen is keeping me up. The message boards will still be there in the morning.”
Rumor has it that JWS is overruling Sparky on every call. You think that’s why the play-calling has gotten so conservative???? They need to air it up!!!! Or hand it to Norwood!!! Remember that run against Auburn?? He’s the best running back on the team!!
The wife gets out of bed and walks to the computer. She reads over his shoulder.
ESPN reported JWS is on the hot seat. I hear if JWS didn’t beat Troy State, Larry Templeton was gonna can him. Wonder if that means Joe Lee is gone too?
“How do you know that? When was the last time you spoke to Templeton? And how likely is it that he would tell anyone anything regarding whether Jackie Sherrill is going to be fired?”
Anyone hear about that linebacker at Yazoo? Last I heard, his final choices were us and Bama!!!!. Why is he considering a program that’s on probation????
“Now that’s pathetic. You’re sweating over a decision some 18-year-old is going to make. I remember you at age 18. I’ve hit things with my car that were smarter.”
The Dawgs are gonna get it together this week. They just needed to remember what a win felt like. Once they start trying hard, they can beat anyone. GO DAWGS!!!!
“Are you saying that they weren’t trying hard before? You think these guys train year-round and then don’t give everything they have the few times a year they actually step on the field?”
JWS should scrap the white helmets. We haven’t won anything wearing them except for the Independence Bowl.
“So losing is blamed on the color of the helmets. Why not the colors of the pants? I’ve got an idea. Maybe Sherrill should redesign the uniforms every time they lose, because the outcome of the game always depends on things that aren’t related to how the players played, right?”
“Here, I’m going to do you a favor.”
The wife turns off the computer.
The husband stares at the blank screen for a moment, then turns around and asks, “Why did you do that?”
She replies, “I don’t know much about life, but I know it’s more than gossiping about how a bunch of college kids who play a game. I also know that your life is going to take a turn for the worse if you don’t come to bed. Now.”
