I want to sincerely thank everyone who supported my campaign over the past months.
I can’t express how good it feels having friends who truly believe in what you stand for and who are willing to give so much of themselves to help make a dream of mine come true.
Although the election results weren’t as favorable as we had hoped, I am confident that we ran a clean and well-organized campaign-one to be very proud of!
All of this is in the past, however, and the time has come to look ahead to the future of Mississippi State.
Even though my name will not appear on the runoff ballot Tuesday, I will continue to look out for the students of Mississippi State. That is why I proudly endorse Adam Telle for the position of Student Association president.
Although the Student Association has gained a lot of momentum over the past few years, it is extremely important that we elect an SA president who will take that momentum, add to it, and put it to work for the students of Mississippi State. Adam is the only remaining candidate with the experience, the vision and the integrity to take the SA to the next level.
I know this because I have worked with Adam in the Student Association over the past year and have seen first-hand his tireless work ethic and his dedication to the students of MSU.
Let’s talk about Adam’s experience. Adam has been working with the current administration since last summer on making this year’s Student Association the overwhelming success that it has been.
Through his current position as executive assistant to the SA president, Adam has worked hard to found a Student Bulldog Club, build on Bulldog Bash and promote campus-wide involvement.
Over the years, Adam has been a great asset to the Student Association, and his experience should not be overlooked.
Let’s talk about Adam’s vision. At the beginning of this school year, Adam formed a committee to explore the reasons why one-fifth of MSU freshmen leave after their first year of school.
I had the privilege to serve on the Academic Vision Committee with Adam, and together we researched solutions to this threatening problem.
The result was a First-Year Experience program that will revolutionize the way freshmen and transfer students live and learn during their first year of college.
Were it not for the vision of Adam and others who worked on this special project, this revolutionary idea would not have come to fruition. The Mississippi State community owes a great deal of gratitude to Adam’s academic vision committee for the work they have done to raise awareness of freshman retention.
Let’s talk about Adam’s integrity. Over the past year, I have gotten to know to Adam, first as a colleague in the Student Association, and then as a friend.
I respect Adam, not just because he is my friend, but because of the example he sets for everyone he comes in contact with. Because he is a man of great character, Adam will be someone that you will be proud to say is your Student Association President.
He will listen to student concerns and make sound decisions that will positively affect the life of every MSU student.
If you have walked to class anytime during the past two weeks, you have seen the seven-sheet long “Telle Train” burning up the tracks on the Drill Field. You may have even stopped to watch “Telle Television,” a video-testimony of the many students who support Adam and believe in his vision.
I wish Adam would make another video for the runoff election, because I could spend an hour telling you how important it is that you vote for Adam next Tuesday.
I would not have run for Student Association President if I didn’t think that I was the best candidate for the job.
Furthermore, if I were to do things all over again, I would not change a thing. We ran a top-notch campaign that was issue-oriented and experience-driven.
But just as I said earlier, that is all in the past. It is now time to look to the future.
For that reason, I strongly encourage my supporters and anyone who has an interest in Mississippi State’s prosperity to elect Adam Telle this Tuesday.
