Statewide general elections are scheduled for Nov. 8.
Students who live in Oktibbeha County and are interested in casting their ballots have until Saturday at noon to register with the county circuit clerk in the courthouse annex located on 108 W. Main St. in downtown Starkville.
To register, residents must fill out a voter registration form. The form can be found at sos.state.ms.us/elections/VoterRegistration/. Residents need to print this form, fill it out and mail it to the above address.
The election will include all offices from the govenor down to county elected officials.
Three major amendments to Mississippi’s Constitution will be voted on in this year’s election. The Mississippi Personhood Amendment, the Mississippi Eminent Domain Amendment and the Mississippi Voter Identification Amendment will all be on the ballot.
Residents who want to cast an absentee ballot in their home county elections, need to apply with their county’s circuit clerks. Requests for a ballot need to be made at least 30 days before the election. Ballots must be received by 5 p.m. the day prior to elections.
