These are brief statements submitted by candidates for Student Association executive office at the request of The Reflector. These statements appear as they were submitted by the candidates. The
Reflector staff has not edited for content or grammar.I am from Columbia, TN and majoring in Business Administration with a minor in Accounting. If elected I would provide an unbiased opinion in the Student Association. By that I mean that no matter would be too small to be heard by me, and I would devote all my time and effort into resolving any matter that might arise.
I want to evaluate the financial situation of every campus organization; I am aware that there are over 300 student organizations, and want to secure their future at State. Also, I would document scrupulous records and make it easy for the next treasurer to transition into office.
One big issue to me is that the SA has appeared distant from the student body at times. I want to put an end to that, and make the SA an organization that is truly by the students, for the students. I want to place a big emphasis on reaching out to the students and making them more aware of the numerous ways to be involved with the University. I believe doing that would make our University thrive and develop more than it ever has before.
I chose to run for SA Treasurer because I feel that I would complete the Executive team of the SA. I work well with others, and am capable of excelling under stress. I am a team player, and I love brainstorming ways to ensure that Mississippi State grows in a positive and effective way.
