The Lady Bulldog basketball program announced the hiring of a coordinator of basketball operations last week.
Stephanie Siler joined the program and accompanied the team to Lexington, Ky., for the Lady Dawgs’ 54-41 victory over the Lady Wildcats.
“Flying on the jet was a neat experience,” Siler said. “Several people have told me that coach Fanning is one of the best people to learn from in the country. I am excited to be a part of her staff.”
Siler will handle the team’s travel arrangenments and meals, as well as exchange game tapes with other teams.
These duties were previously handled by assistant coaches.
Head coach Sharon Fanning said Siler’s abilities will be helpful in designing brochures for basketball camps, while freeing up the assistant coaches for more recruiting opportunities.
Fanning found Siler through a former assistant.
“Stephanie is a do-er,” she said. “We will tap her resources.”
