I am a proud student at Mississippi State University. I am even more proud to be a citizen of the United States.
I take great pride in being a part of MSU. We have a beautiful campus that offers many great endeavors for all of its students as well as the citizens of Starkville.
However, I became extremely disappointed with the university while attending the baseball game against Florida on Sunday.
The flag we saluted during the “Star Spangled Banner” was torn and tattered.
This is completely unacceptable! I became increasingly disappointed when I observed that all of the other flags-MSU flags-that were waving were newer flags without blemishes. This problem should be addressed.
If we can afford new MSU flags, not to mention a new scoreboard-which I do understand was a donation-why can’t we afford a new United States flag?
Surely someone would be more than happy to donate one if we can’t afford one.
