Three Night Run Open Wednesday

Blackfriars comical play, Bus Stop, which opened last night continues in Lee Hall tonight and tomorrow night.

A beautiful set and a tremendous performance by an alcoholic professor played by Eric Loftis paved the way to a rolling opening night performance. Backed by admirable performances by Pattie Kurts as Cherie and Ron Gordon as Bo Decker, the Blackfriars production of William Inge’s play received an unprecedented three curtain calls, according to Dr. D. J. Cunetto.

The supporting cast, made up of Amy McDillas Elma, Peggy Boone as Grace, James West as Will, David Dye as Carl, and Ralph Nowell as Virgil, performed well as a small audience proved unreceptive to the comical lines through most of the first act.

Much credit for a fine set should be given to the set committee who obviously worked many long hours to provide such a colorful backdrop, said Cunetto.
