A snow day at Mississippi State University brings endless possibilities

When cold weather and the chance of snow arrives in Mississippi, people are often not prepared. Some people are afraid of the driving conditions the snow brings while others simply do not know how to make the most of their day.
Luckily, snow is the backdrop for a range of Pinterest possibilities. These five activities can turn any snow day into a day worth remembering.
Students can go sledding, or try out another snow related sport. Those looking for more adventure can gather a group of friends and attempt to perform any of those activities. With only a few inches of snow, this may seem impossible, but the difficulty of the activity is half the fun. Since Mississippi is void of most snow sporting equipment, students can take the wheels off any skateboard to make a snow board or use pool inflatables as sleds. This task may take a little creativity, but it will result in unforgettable memories.
Students with cameras should take as many pictures as they can. Snow in Mississippi is a rare occasion and can be the back drop for amazing photos. Photographing the scenery, friends, or even setting up a tripod and photograph oneself. Classic snow photos students can try include throwing the snow up in the air while laughing, someone making a snow angel, someone looking wistfully into the distance while surround by snow or any sort of cheesy couple photo that makes any bystanders cringe. Students do not have to be an experienced photographer to take and edit photos on their phone.
There are also plenty of ways for students to have fun indoors.
Students can fix a cup of hot chocolate or tea and curling up on the couch with a good book or a movie to enjoy their day. Netflix can make any boring or cold day better. However, be sure to keep the blinds open so you can catch a glimpse of the snow outside the window between episodes. Students can also make cookies, cakes or any sort of sweet food to enjoy alongside their Netflix viewing.
Lastly, students can do homework or catch up on any work. This is probably the least exciting option for students. However, it is the most productive one. It may be the boring thing to do, but for students who are not snow people, it is one way to make the best use of time and will guarantee students have plenty of free time to hang out with friends when it is not freezing outdoors.
Students can spend the day outside or stay indoors, but should be sure to plan out their snow related activities well, because in Mississippi snow is the stuff of legends.
