Aramark wins food contract

 
Beginning this year, Mississippi State University will begin a new era with their concessions. Aramark Higher Education became the winning bidder for a 10-year contract to provide concessions for most MSU athletic venues.
“Our philosophy at Aramark is to enhance the game day experience for every fan by offering less lines and more variety,” Aramark Resident District Manager Jason Nall said.
To achieve this goal, many new food choices will be available along with classic football favorites such as boiled peanuts, hot dogs and nachos.
For those looking for a lighter, healthier alternative to classic football food, Chik-fil-A will serve grilled chicken wraps at all Maroon and White Express locations.
For football fans who get a little too hot in the sun, an increase in frozen products including Dippin’ Dots and shaved ice will be available.
Aramark has catered to people who just want a drink, so they will not have to wait in line with everyone else.
Because of the renovation, drinks can be bought in new 3-D souvenir cups at any Maroon and White Express, as well as at any portable stand.
There are even portable stands dedicated to sweet tea and bottled soft drinks. This change will allow fans to get what they want and get back to their seats in a shorter time, but if fans are caught in a long line, brand new televisions live-streaming the football game will make sure they will not miss a single play.
Grayson Chappelle, freshman civil engineering major, said the new additions are welcome.
“The new options make football games seem a little fancier. Nobody goes to football games and wants just pizza or hotdogs every time, so the changes are great,” he said.
Nall said all health-related subjects have also been noticed and refreshed. Cutting-edge equipment will help to provide fresher products and keep everything at a safe temperature. Everything hot will be kept hot, and everything cold will be kept cold. This ensures fans will be pleased with their dining experiences at all MSU athletic events, Nall said.
Aramark Territory Marketing Manager Jennifer Barnette said she is excited about how the changes will positively influence all Bulldog fans’ game day experiences.
“We are very excited to enhance the game day experience. As an alumni here, I think this takes our fan experience to the top level,” she said. “We are ready to feed the Bulldog Nation and guests on game day.”
Aramark began its renovation on July 1, and it will have everything completed and prepared to serve 56,000 people at the football game Saturday.
