    Daybreakdown

Oxford band Daybreakdown will kick off their tour behind their newest album “Shine Like Rust” at Bulldog Bash. Following the bash performance the band will be touring all over the southeast and other parts of the U.S. For Daybreakdown, the road is where they are comfortable. After being out west all summer long the band is ready to play the haunts that gave them their notoriety. The band’s take no prisoners attitude toward touring has garnered much attention for the band, becoming one of the top five touring bands in the state. Along with being a top act, the band’s last album “Make Me Wiser” sold 6,000 copies, an impressive feat for an up-and-coming band.
The band was also voted “Most Promising Southern Rock Band in the U.S.” by a Honest Tune magazine reader’s poll. The band will also be featured on Honest Tune‘s Southern Rock Revival Tour along with other southern rockers such as Outformation, Old Union and Shady Deal.
The newest effort for Daybreakdown, “Shine Like Rust,” also features a veritable who’s who of Mississippi music. Featuring Cary Hudson of Blue Mountain, Chris Steiner and Kevin Larkin of Mayhem String Band and Gin Gin Abraham and JT Lack. The band’s liner notes features the names of Mississippi music royalty. Hudson also produced the album, recorded at the former Fat Possum Studio.
Daybreakdown is composed of Patrick McClary on lead guitar and vocals, Reid Stone on rhythm guitar and vocals, Eric Carlton on the keyboard and Tyler Rayburn performing on drums.
The strong voices, muddy guitars and roaring organ on the band’s recordings creates a good Gumbo of musical influence -a sprinkle of Allman brothers, a dash of Widespread Panic and a heaping helping of Mississippi mud round out the band’s musical concoction.
