I have been involved with the SA since my freshman year in various capacities including: Freshman Forum, committee memberships, and Senate. The SA has been one of my passions since I became a student at MSU and I feel that now, more than ever, it is time for the SA to step up and really act FOR the students. Since MSU has record enrollment numbers, the SA has a job like never before, to represent EVERY student and this is why I chose to run for SA Secretary. My platform is simple and revolves around serving EVERY student. First, I would like to make the SA work harder for the students by better advocating their needs. With this, I would like for the SA in conjunction with the University to explore options for a University wide legal music downloading system, because this need has become apparent.
Second, I would like to start new traditions, but also foster old ones. One of the first traditions I want to initiate is bringing back Friday football pep-rallies, but hosting them in the Junction. Finally, I would like to make the students more aware of what the SA is and can do for them so that they can become more involved. This means that, as an SA exec member it is my job to make sure that there is better PR and better recognition for the SA and its duties to students.
