I would like to appeal to the MSU student body to support the men of Phi Beta Sigma fraternity by attending the Ying Yang Twins concert this Friday, Sept. 3, at the Humphrey Coliseum.
It is relatively common knowledge that Greek organizations at MSU are largely responsible for entertainment and social activities for minority students. For the past two decades, Phi Beta Sigma, in conjunction with Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, has hosted the heavily anticipated week known as Blue and White Week.
The success of Blue and White Week is largely the result of student support and participation. In keeping with their tradition of bringing exciting events to MSU campus for the students, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. treaded into uncharted territory and took on a new project that is not without huge financial risk. Again, the success and continuation of events such as this is largely dependent upon your support and attendance.
As of late, I have heard quite a few people say that the tickets cost too much or that they don’t like rap. Well, I, too, am broke as a skunk and can barely tolerate rap music. However, I am a sucker for risk-takers and efforts that are done in the name of the students. And, besides, what is it for one person to spend a couple bucks to their thousands?
Tonight, you can find me somewhere close to the stage looking strangely out of place. But you better believe I will be so fresh and so clean.
