Less than 24 hours after defeating the Kentucky Wildcats, the Mississippi State Bulldogs got a taste of their own medicine.MSU lost 81-72 Saturday to the Arkansas Razorbacks in the semifinal round of the Southeastern Conference in Atlanta.
MSU never found their rhythm in the contest, turning the ball over 14 times and going only 8-for-25 from behind the 3-point arc.
Arkansas was led in the game by Charles Thomas and Sonny Weems, who each scored 18 points in the win.
Former MSU guard Gary Ervin chipped in 15 points and two assists.
Freshman Ben Hansbrough led the Bulldogs with 12 points. Senior Dietric Slater and sophomore Jamont Gordon both added 11.
In tomorrow’s SEC Championship game, Arkansas will play the winner of this afternoon’s Florida/Mississippi contest.
