Ole Miss at Mississippi State

The MSU soccer team closes out a frustrating year tonight and hopes to pick up its first conference win. It has to do it against an Ole Miss squad that is fighting for a berth in the conference tournament. Ole Miss holds a 7-4-3 advantage in the series and State last defeated the Rebels in 2004. Tonight is Senior Night, and seniors Mary Kate Ayers, Mariclaire Fancher, Meredith Jacobson, Anna Goblirsch, Kevyn Shelledy and Bethany Frazier are playing their last games at MSU. Admission to all MSU home matches is free.

Fans can get a glimpse of the 2009 installment of the Diamond Dawgs this weekend as the baseball Bulldogs wrap up fall practice. Tonight, junior Ricky Bowen and sophomore Forrest Moore take the mound. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. Saturday’s game is slated to begin at 9 a.m., and the series concludes Sunday with a game beginning at 2 p.m. All games are open to the public and admission is free.

Kentucky at Mississippi State

The centerpiece of the weekend’s activities on campus is the football matchup featuring the Bulldogs (3-5, 1-3 SEC) and Wildcats (5-3, 1-3).
The Dawgs are fighting to remain in contention for a bowl game, needing three wins in their remaining four games. The Wildcats seek to rebound from a 63-5 lashing at the hands of SEC East-leading Florida last Saturday.

Montevallo at Mississippi State

Fans get a chance to see their Bulldogs in action Saturday as the Dawgs take on Montevallo in State’s first exhibition matchup. The reigning SEC Western Division champions must rebuild after losing three starters from last year’s squad, but a talented group of young players looks once again to compete for the crown.
