I was wondering, why did State change its helmet design? I mean, I do like the M crest style, but not for more than a few games where we would go retro. The interlocking MSU maroon helmet with white facemask was really cool and intimidating. Granted, we’re not necessarily intimidating anyone right now, but this design can get a little lame after a while. I’m sure it has something to do with “the start of a new era,” but I really and truly hope they change it back soon.
Don’t get me wrong, I support Croom and the boys 200 percent and I’m glad he’s finally bringing back character and self-respect to our guys (they’re learning the hard way), but some things were fine the way they were.
If someone could enlighten me as to the change and any chance of going back to the “cool” style, I would really appreciate it. Because all I hear up here in Chicago is Big 10 this and Notre Dame that.
