Twenty-five bachelors were working their angles as hard as they
possibly could to win the heart of bacherolette Trista Rehn. Rehn,
no longer single because Vail, Colo., fire fighter and part- time
poet captured her heart and asked for her hand in engagement on the
season finale on Feb. 19.
The ABC reality show aired for six longs weeks as viewers
watched patiently to find out who would no longer be single. This
is the first time for “The Bachelorette” which resembles the former
reality show “The Bachelor.”
Most reality series featured on dating usually have the format
of girls competing for guys. But Rehn, formerly a contestant on
“The Bachelor,” had the chance to pick from an array of men who
would do just about anything it took to win her heart, but from the
bunch, Rehn made her decision, and America watched as the couple
were united.
From the beginning, warm-hearted Ryan Sutter stood out from the
other 24 bachelors. Was it his cute smile, his sweet poetry, or his
gentle touch that capture Rehn’s heart? Since the show quit airing
the two lovebirds seem to still be in lover’s paradise.
“They really looked in love when the two appeared on ‘Good
Morning America’ and ‘The Jimmy Kimmel Show.’ The two held hands
during the most part and you could see the connection in their
eyes. I am so happy for them,” MSU student Sara Beth Stockton
said.
On Rehn’s trip to Sutter’s parents home in Vail, Rehn described
herself to them as a warm weather girl. This made viewers wonder if
in the outcome of the show she would end up with charming
Stutter?
Snuggling atop of Eagles Nest and luxuriating in The Lodge, a
premier suite at the bottom of Vail mountain, you could tell it was
hard for Rehn to resist Sutter’s true compassion and love for her.
Though, Rehn never contributed back her feelings to Sutter at the
time because she did not want to get his hopes up.
One date, the two went to Sea World and swam with dolphins and
goofed off with one another. Sparks flew, and the millions of
American’s watching could infer she was beginning to fall for him
the minute he handed her the stuffed Shamu whale. She seemed to
have lit up like a little girl in a candy store every time
As a commemorative of the show, now in Vail, The Lodge is
offering a Ryan Romance Package. The package rates start at $399
and includes: two nights in a luxury suite, a romantic dinner at
their restaurant, “The Wildflower” complimentary drinks, chocolate
covered strawberries and a copy of one of Sutter’s poems.
A note of consideration, Sutter is not included in the package
and one should refrain from pulling the fire alarm.
“Ryan was my favorite from the beginning and I kept my fingers
crossed hoping he would win. I watched it every Wednesday night
with four of my friends and when he won we all jumped in amazement
and excitement that he did win,” MSU student Amanda Reily said.
Anticipation grew as as viewers waited for Rehn’s final
decision. The final episode was dragged out for two hours to make
the viewer wait in uttered anticipation. Rehn chose to give her
last rose to Sutter. Her decision was made, and there is no turning
back for Rehn. Viewers on the Web page seemed to be pleased.
“I do not see how she decided from the two guys, it would be
hard to pick between the two because they were total opposites.
Personally, I liked both of them because of their different
distinctions one had what the other didn’t,” Senior Lyndsey Newcomb
said. “Put them both together, and they would be a perfect package.
As far as her decision, as long as she is happy I am thrilled for
her.”
