When wondering what excitement and fun Starkville holds this semester, take a peek at what Rick’s Cafe has to offer. “I’ve got a really great lineup of bands this semester,” said Rick’s Caf? Americain owner Rick Welch. “One of my favorite bands has been the North MS Allstars that played Jan. 9. They brought a really great crowd.”
Welch has had a few more offers for more national shows this semester, but nothing has been made final yet.
Bands that will definitely appear include The 17th Floor on Jan. 31. Splendid Chaos will play Jan. 17, and the Kudzu Kings will appear Jan. 18.
Welch said his favorite show is The 17th Floor and that he was excited about their appearance.
“They (The 17th Floor) always have a very energetic show, and I really enjoy watching the crowd get into it and have fun,” Welch said.
Also coming to Rick’s this semester are several added improvements like new bathrooms, more air conditioning and a front dining area with patios.
“We are ever improving Rick’s, as always, with great bands and great drink specials,” Welch said.

According to Welch, great service and great bands are the key to good entertainment.
“We take pride in bringing the very best in live entertainment to the area, and we work very hard to keep the customer No. 1,” Welch said.
