Spring fever has hit me in the worst way. The same thing happens in April every year. School seems to be dragging on forever. Teachers or professors load the work on thick so that students will be prepared to move on to the next level course. The air is fresh with the smell of cut grass and flowers. It is pleasantly warm, and the sun is shining. The last thing a student wants to do is read a hundred pages of a literature book or do a writing assignment or work out a half billion algebra problems before slipping off to bed.
Students would rather be frolicking across Drill Field with no shoes on, playing Frisbee or walking the dog. Students would rather be fishing and swimming at their favorite the swimming pool or nearest lake. I personally, would rather be on a beach somewhere far away from the confines of Starkville.
Slowly but surely, school lags on. It will be over before we know it. Yet another year will pass by, and we will all be asking ourselves where the time went. Until then, students must buckle down and not neglect to turn in the papers on time and study for finals, which are a week away. That is exciting and wonderful news.
Until then, kick back and enjoy school time and try not to think about the fact that it is sunny and 85 degrees outside. Think finals and papers and deadlines, not sprinklers and sandals and sunshine. Now is the time to study hard to finish those last few days of school. The sunburns and white sandy beaches will have to wait.
The sun is out and the grass is green, but the students here at MSU are going to make it. Keep a countdown until your last final. It is almost over!
