Hobart said he is excited to have the chance to represent the entire student body.
“I look forward to pushing SA forward,” he said.
Hales said he was also looking forward to the coming year.
“I don’t really know what words to say,” he said. “I’m just so thankful for the people supporting me.”
Hales said the thing he is most excited about is developing the senate further.
“I think big stuff is going to come out of it,” he said.
Hales said he hopes this newly elected Executive Council continues to build on what past Executive Councils have done.
Sledge said she is excited about working with the other elected officials.
“I’m ready to start working on my platform and broadening the role of secretary,” she said.
Watts said in the next year he will focus on bettering the class registration process and working on a Google calendar to merge the MSU calendars with students’ personal calendars.
“I think being on Student Association Executive Council gives me the opportunity to represent students — not a specific group, but all students,” he said.
Watts said he wants to reach out to students and organizations who are not normally recognized.
“I’ll be able to listen to students and voice concerns to the administration,” he said.
Hales said this year had the highest turnout.
“I’m happy to see so much attention being paid to SA this year,” he said.
Walt Montgomery, SA elections commissioner, said 4,591 students voted, which is up 1,600 from last year.
Hobart said the SA is currently going through the transition period, and SA inauguration will take place the night of March 8. |
