DNCE will headline the 2017 MSU Bulldog Bash hosted by the Student Association on September 15.
Joe Jonas formed DNCE in 2015 by assembling bassist and keyboardist Cole Whittle, guitarist JinJoo Lee and drummer Jack Lawless.
According to their website, their breakout hit song “Cake By The Ocean” became Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and reached Top 10 on iTunes in over 10 countries.
The multi-platinum selling dance-rock band won “Best New Artist” at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards.
Allie Nichols is the director of Bulldog Bash 2017 and junior secondary education major.
“I’m so pumped that DNCE is headlining,” Nichols said. “I think it’s a good fit for the show because they’re high energy, inclusive and just a super good time. It should be an awesome show.”
The 18th annual Bulldog Bash will take place the night before MSU football’s SEC home opener against Louisiana State University. It will be located at the intersection of Jackson Street and Main Street, because of the recent growth of Bulldog Bash and safety concerns of previous locations.
