On Saturday, Mississippi State University’s football team will face LSU in the team’s first conference game of the season. This also means the return of Bulldog Bash, as well as all the other surrounding events, in Starkville this weekend.
However, the events surrounding the football game are not all happening this weekend as a visiting lecturer will be on campus Friday and a musical recital will take place in the old Baptist Student Union Building on Sunday.
Maroon Market
What: Booths representing a variety of local artist, restaurants and organizations will be set up in Downtown Starkville leading up to Bulldog Bash.
When: 2-6 p.m. on Friday on Main Street.
The Bulldog Bash Local Stage
What: Local bands will perform during the Maroon Market as part of Bulldog Bash. Music will begin at 2 p.m. when Miss Lou takes the stage. Miss Lou will be followed by Miles Huff at 2:45 p.m., Mead at 3:25 p.m., Wiley Bigger at 4:05 p.m. and Woodlands at 4:50 p.m.
When: 2-5:30 p.m. on Friday in Historic Downtown Starkville.
Philosophy and Religion Lecture
What: Marco Nathan, an assistant professor at the University of Denver, will present a lecture entitled “The Mind-Body Problem, Version 3.0: Psychology in the Age of Neuroscience” as part of Mississippi State University’s Department of Religion and Philosophy’s visiting speaker series.
When: 2-4 p.m. on Friday in McCain Hall room 175.
Marimba Recital
What: Jason Baker, an associate professor of music at Mississippi State University, will present a marimba recital. He will be accompanied by six students: Trenton Brown, John Ferguson, Dylan Hamman, Grace McCommon, Caleb Mooneyham and Zachary Sayles.
When: 3 p.m. on Sunday in the old Baptist Student Union Building.
