Two residents of Lowndes County were indicted on capital murder charges in the shooting of the late Mississippi State University student Joseph Tillman from Greenwood, Mississippi.
Angie McGinnis, the interim circuit clerk confirms the indictment of Jaylen Barker and Syboris Pippins. Barker’s initial charge of murder was upgraded to capital murder, and Pippins was upgraded from robbery to capital murder late last year.

Twenty-one-year-old Joseph Tillman was shot and killed on Nov. 6 2016. The incident occurred on Maxwell Street adjacent from StaggerIn Sports Grill.
Barker and Pippins bond was set at $2 million each for the capital murder charge.
The date and time for their arraignment has not been released, but it is likely to happen this week.
