MSU Health Department urges spring safety

The department of health education and wellness wants to get Spring Break kicked off early this week by offering games and tips on how to have a safe vacation.Regina Lattimore, graduate assistant for health education and wellness, said the theme of this week’s activities is “Let’s try bringing safety back in 2007.”
A booth with information and games will be on the Drill Field from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today, and Wednesday there will be a “fun-in-the-sun” carnival on the front lawn of the Sanderson Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m offering free cotton candy, games and music.
Monday, the department offered a drinking and driving simultation on the Drill Field. Participants wore goggles that demonstrated what their surroundings would look like if they were intoxicated. The participants then drove golf carts around obstacle courses on the Drill Field.
This week is to inform students that they can still have fun and be safe over Spring Break, Lattimore said.
