In a called meeting Friday, the Student Association elections court decided that Jeremy Sherman is not eligible to run for SA president.
Elections commissioner Spencer Broocks called question to the senior landscape architecture major’s candidacy last Tuesday because the SA Constitution says candidates for president must be enrolled in MSU for the two semesters previous to seeking election. Sherman began his tenure at MSU in fall 2005 and has only attended one previous semester, he said.
The court agreed with this interpretation during its meeting at 3 p.m. Friday.
This move leaves the race for SA president with three candidates-Keeyon Scott, J.R. Love and Tiffany Crawford. Elections will be Feb. 21.
