The administration at MSU should be commended for trying to stick with a comprehensive plan of campus construction. But more care is needed for the vision to work.
Specifically, the plan should be flexible when it comes to parking. Students still have trouble with parking every day. The planners should consider this when revising elements of the Master Plan.
The meetings for the plan were regular at one point, but they have been more sporadic.
With a plan that stretches over 20 years, the planners should meet with more consistency. It would be extremely hard to provide adequate construction for the long run without constant tweaking and involvement.
However, it’s good that a variety of people are allowed to attend these meetings. This allows more voices to address specialized concerns.
If MSU is heading into a progressive stage of construction, the fight to do it must be stronger. Therefore, we commend the planners for making it this far. It’s time to finish the job with style.
