A credible source close to the Mississippi State University presidential search said an announcement could be made within the hour announcing a new interim MSU president.
An emergency teleconference of the Insitutions of Higher Learning is currently being held in three locations across the state – MSU, USM and the Education and Research Center in Jackson.
Annie Mitchell, IHL director of media relations, said she could not comment on any pending MSU personnel changes.
“The Board is currently having its emergency meeting,” she said. “They will be available to answer questions afterward.”
