Institutions of Higher Learning Commissioner Thomas Meredith announced today that Vance Watson will assume his duties as interim president of Mississippi State University April 1, having been named to the position less than a week ago.”The Board and I appreciate Dr. Watson’s willingness to serve Mississippi State in this capacity and know he will generate positive momentum for the university during this interim period,” Meredith said.
Watson will immediately begin working with President Robert “Doc” Foglesong to ensure a smooth transition into the office.
Watson’s salary has yet to be determined.
