Mississippi State University Police Chief Georgia Lindley resigned from her position Friday according to a statement released by the Office of Public Affairs. Lindley was placed on administrative leave Thursday following a DUI arrest by the Starkville Police Department.
SPD Captain Frank Nichols said Lindley was driving on Louisville Street when she was stopped by an officer and registered positive for alcohol. Lindley was transported to the police station where she was booked and posted bond.
Lindley’s resignation is effective Dec. 31. Also effective Dec. 31 is Starkville Police Chief David Lindley’s resignation, which occurred late November after a traffic incident involving his wife, according to Starkville Daily News.
