The whole thing felt rushed. Homecoming week was four days short of a good experience.
When the MSU administration planned the events for this academic year, it decided on a time for Fall Break first. Then Homecoming was slapped on the schedule right after the break.
Needless to say, nobody had enough time to feel the Homecoming experience. It would have made more sense to place the week before Fall Break. Then people could bask in a full week of activities and rest afterward.
Sure, Houston was a lesser opponent, and we usually like to play weaker teams during Homecoming to increase the chances of winning the football game. But that doesn’t matter at MSU, where we have lost three of the last five Homecoming games.
Homecoming didn’t feel special. And media outlets, such as The Reflector, didn’t have enough time to inform students about the events.
Hopefully, the administration will learn from its mistake and schedule Homecoming week with more logic.
It’s not that hard. Three days are not a week.
