It didn’t take long for Jimmy Bass to find another job. Less than a week after resigning as Mississippi State’s senior associate director of athletics for development and marketing, Bass accepted a job at East Carolina University.
ECU made the the announcement Wednesday, as reported by The Daily Reflector. Bass, who served a five-year tenure as assistant athletics director for marketing from 1989-94 at ECU, will oversee all fundraising, marketing, promotional, ticketing and media relations efforts for the Pirates intercollegiate athletic programs.
Bass said his abrupt decision to resign from Mississippi State was for “personal and family reasons.” Bass told The Daily Reflector his main reason for accepting the ECU job, one that was newly-created for him, was to work with Holland.
“I was so very impressed with his vision for East Carolina,” Bass said.
